Diepholz
Come for a visit - you won't regret it

This nice, little city in the north west of Germany has about 16.000 inhabitants and is situated near the Duemmer See, one of the biggest lakes in Lower Saxony. In the summer you can go on pedal boats or take your bicycle and go on tours around the Duemmer. And as it must not become boring there are even more nice cycle paths around the city. If that is not enough exicitment for you then there is the ‘moor explore path’ which invites you to get more informed about the characteristics of the countryside. br / br /In Diepholz you will find many old buildings such as the donjon or the Münte, an old house where the minters used to work in the past. It can be found in our town’s park where also the outdoor pool is located. br /If you are interested in history you should go to the Heimat-Museum of Aschen. This is a small hamlet nearby and in its museum you will learn about how people were living in the region in the past. br / br /If shopping and entertainment is your thing then you can walk down the pedestrian precinct and have a look at the variety of small shops or go to the cafés and ice cream parlours. At the ‘Gänsemarkt’ you can go to the café ‘Vitaly’ and have a look at the gooses. The old town hall is also worth a view and if you are thirsty after all this walking then you can pop inside for a drink because now it is a pub called the ‘Körstube’. br / br /Nightlife in Diepholz is not very busy but there are good pubs near the market place one being ‘Styzz” and another worth a visit is ‘Stechuhr’ - well, it will open soon hopefully... There is only one night club in city, ‘Empire’, but there are some clubs not far away. In addition to the pubs you will find a lot of good restaurants scattered all over the town as well. br /Once you have seen Diepholz you should definitely go and visit the city of Bremen and Osnabrück. Both towns are not even an hour away and you can enjoy their historic parts, the shopping possibilities and nightlife which is the best in Germany. br /
